The company (Cookie Jar) that controls the show has decided their target market is the 9 to 12 YO boy. Thay are also Canadian and I think the guidelines for children's broadcast television are different - maybe even better than the American guidelines. A little eduction with their Pop Tarts instead of Spidey and the rest of the Superheros bashing it out with the bad guys. I guess that's why most of Cookie Jar's other shows (aside from Will and Dewitt (Hey - more education)) are only on PBS in the US.

After getting the 1st dvd i was kinda disappointed. The first episode was good but I really don't like all the changes. And I am not convinced that character is Tony Jones. What happen to the days of hoodies and cargoes? And I don't know if this has to do with the actual show or if they did not go in order on the dvd release because after the first episode nothing is explained. I guess finally outside of the big stupid rocks they use (rings make some much more sense) I feel like the copped out on the creatures (and some of the characters) outside of the main characters. I mean some look horrible and not even like the original creatures from the game. And where are the rest of the Magi? You hardly ever see anyone else even walking around.

I agree that this show is highly disappointing.
Anyone remember the days when you could go onto the OFFICIAL Magi-Nation site (run by 2i staff, unlike here) and watch that awesome 3D trailer that the show was supposed to be like?

I'm starting to wonder if CJE ever played the game or even read the storyline related material, or even looked at the character art and bio for that matter.

I hate to use this reference but maybe South Park got it right with "Blame Canada" ....for this horrid attempt at a Magi-Nation show.
Fans could do better than this.

I believe that this show is an insult to the Magi-Nation community.

I have attempted this actually (fan based cartoon) I wrote out a simple storyboard, but stick figures just don't do Matt Holmberg art enough justice. I would love to coordinate with some members here and put together a comic book series based on the original MND universe.
