Husp's Steal

Postby davester64 on June 12th, 2008, 11:59 am

The Husp's Steal power has got to be the most broken part of this game, IMO.

Of course, I say that now, as I do not have one yet. But as I try to get enought Animite to have all of the Orothe Creatures, and XP to get my character to lvl 30, my battles in Orothe are always confounded by the Husp.

Does Immunity even work against the Steal? So far it hasn't. My DCs in my Aegis are all lvl 10, and I would guess the Husp to be as well-it has 38 energy when it comes out.

Any suggestions from those who have battled these big Husps?

Thanks
Dave

I LOVE Husp. It's the only DC my Gabbi needs. There are other DCs in the party, but they aren't needed. I can hardly wait for my second character to get to Orothe so she can get one, too. Husp's steal is better than the steal of the other DCs in my opinion.

Yea, I can't wait to get all the Animite so I can have one of my own! It's so obnoxious to battle against; having my own will be too much fun.

The best reply to Steal is to field only one DC and cast Power Up a few times. Paralyzing the Husp is a good option if you have high Strike, but the best is raising the Wisdom of your DCs, because Steal turns really ugly for the EN Thief if the attack is Guarded.
So killing a Husp is easiest if you have a spell to increase WSDM or a spell to heal a DC. If you have the +WSDM, bring out a Balamant and buff its WSDM and watch it tear up the Husp in solo conflict. If you have the heal, bring out a Parathin or Xyx or other self-buffer, and heal it while it buffs up.
Either way, the Steal becomes inefficient against only 1 opponent, and absolutely horrible against a foe with high Wisdom.

Well, I know that you're from the Underneath since I've seen you before and raising your WSDM is one way to battle a Husp but since magi from the Underneath don't have a paralyze spell or a spell that raises WSDM, it'll take a turn to magine a creature and the Husps can greatly weaken the creatures by casting steal, so another thing I suggest is lowering their strike with a spell such as Heavy Feet. That way it's strike would be lowered and it'll have a less chance of hitting you.

Well, I did get a Husp of my own a while back, and ot him to lvl 10 right away. He's usually first to the field :P and often wins alone.

Of course, that's only vs. creatures-in Pvp, it usually helps to field Stagadan. But it's hard to find players at lvl 30.

Well, you did see me a while back and I usually do come, just with my level 28 Orothe character and one thing I find annoying is having an opponent with Stagadan on their side. Eventually my Orothe will be level 30 and she always uses Husp in her battle and I plan to get both characters with all 60 shadow relics. Two more relics to go for my Orothe character. Stagadan is pretty annoying for Naroom but it's still not too hard. I can just make Stagadan berserk when I use my Orothe character to prevent its full heal.
